Alleyn's Virtual Open Event

Registration for prospective entry in September 2021 is now closed, although you are still welcome to enjoy this Virtually Alleyn's Open Event! Around this time of year, we would usually invite prospective applicants and their families to join us at School to learn more about our happy community, hear about the application process from our Senior Management Team, and take a tour around the campus with our friendly pupil guides.

Of course, we can't do that at the moment.

While we would much rather be meeting you in person, and look forward to doing so as soon as guidance allows, we hope that in the meantime you will enjoy this Virtually Alleyn's Open Event. You will hear from a number of colleagues including our Interim Headmaster, Mr Andy Skinnard, and Mrs Jane Lunnon, who joins us in January 2021 as our new Head.

We also share below an FAQ session, presented by Head of Lower School Stuart Turner and our Senior School Registrar, Ms Louise Mawer, who address questions that are often raised by parents and children at open events.

Most importantly, you will also meet with our new School Captains, who will give you a flavour of life at Alleyn's from their perspective; including their advice for pupils and parents considering an application to Alleyn's.

We hope that you will very much enjoy these presentations. If you do, and you would like to learn more, please do register for one of our online group meetings, which will be hosted by our admissions team and senior colleagues throughout September, October and November. You will find a link to do so further down this page.

If you have general questions about the Alleyn's admissions process, please email our Registrar, Ms Louise Mawer.

With very best wishes from all at Alleyn's.

Covid-19 Update - Introduction of the ISEB Common Pre-test

Please note that after much careful consideration of how we can safely and responsibly conduct our 11+ entrance exam this year, we have taken the decision to proceed with the ISEB Common Pre-test. This is an online test which will avoid the need for larger groups of children to attend the School site in person and thereby reduces the risk of potential Covid-19 transmission. For more you can visit the ISEB information section on this page of our website, or visit the dedicated ISEB website.

You might also like to watch the Music Department Virtual Open Event for Potential 11+ Scholars. The purpose of this event is to give families the opportunity to hear from the Director of Music, Mr Chris Dearmer, and current music scholars and to learn about the scholarship process. We expect potential scholars to offer at least two instruments, or voice and one instrument. Applicants do not need to have passed any formal music examinations in order to apply for a music scholarship, but, as a guide, the standard expected on the principal instrument corresponds with Grade V.
