Alleyn's welcomes filming and photography projects, big and small, and has been the location for feature films, television shoots, commercials and photo shoots.
Alleyn's School is located in a beautiful 26 acre site in the heart of Dulwich, South East London. The School offers a wide variety of locations ranging from traditional to modern with buildings dating between 1889 and 2016. Alleyn’s was founded in 1619 by Edward Alleyn, the famous Elizabethan actor and contemporary of Shakespeare and Marlowe, and is steeped in history and tradition. There are a range of sizes and styles of halls, classrooms, corridors, meeting rooms, sports and performance facilities which, depending on what you want to achieve can be transformed by your art department. There are two car parks located on site which can be used as a base unit for larger hires.
The contemporary 350-seat theatre was used for feature film 'Desert Dancer' staring Tom Cullen and Frieda Pinto and more recently has been used as a studio space for a number of photo shoots.
Availability can be restricted and is limited to evenings, weekends and school holidays, however please do be aware that there are 17 weeks of holidays throughout the year. The Edward Alleyn Clubhouse, located a 5 minute drive from the main school, is available to hire alongside filming at Alleyn's School for large projects, or independently as a conveniently located unit base for filming in the area. The clubhouse has ample parking, all the necessary facilities and is available to hire during and after school hours.
There is no fixed rate card for filming and photography. Each quote is created on an individual basis depending on a number of aspects including length of shoot, crew size, and technical requirements.
