Performance & Rehearsal Space
Alleyn's offers a range of well-appointed performance and rehearsal spaces for community and commercial hire; including the RIBA award-winning MCT theatre, the atmospheric Great Hall, and a number of modern studios.
The Edward Alleyn Building was designed by architects van Heyningen & Haward in consultation with Theatreplan and won the 2010 RIBA London Award in the Education and Community category. We welcome musicians and theatre companies who would like to use the theatre for rehearsal or performance, and among those who have already worked in the space are I Fagiolini and the English National Ballet. The theatre is also an ideal venue for conferences and lectures and has state-of-the-art projection facilities.
At the heart of the Edward Alleyn Building is the MCT, the principal venue for music, drama and dance at Alleyn's. Since its opening, the theatre has hosted drama and music ranging from the International Concert Series, featuring renowned musicians such as the Gould Piano Trio with Robert Plane, pianist Steven Osborne, English trumpeter Alison Balsom OBE and the Swingle Singers, to the award-winning Inspector Sands' production If That's All There Is.
