From cutting edge investigative journalism to light-hearted comedy, two alumni, Fola Evans-Akingbola (Tulley’s 2012) on the left and Heidi Blake (Tulley’s 2004) on the right offer some contrasting viewing.
‘Once upon a Time in Londongrad’, is a timely six-part series currently available to view on Sky. Based on the Pulitzer nominated book ‘From Russia With Blood’, written by investigative journalist, Heidi Blake (Tulley’s 2004), the true-crime documentary delves into the frightening world of exiles and oligarchs, uncovering connections between 14 London deaths and their alleged associations with Putin’s Russia. Heidi leads a team of journalists examining the links between such globally significant cases as the death of property tycoon Scot Young, the poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko and death of oligarch Boris Berevovsky, in what she has described as ‘the first story that has ever scared her’.
Meanwhile, you can also catch Fola Evans-Akingbola (Tulley’s 2012) in ‘Ten Percent’ on Amazon Prime. Fola, best known for her role as Maddie Bishop in the series Siren and who has also featured in such shows as Black Mirror, Game of Thrones, Death in Paradise and Holby City, plays Zoe Spencer in the comedy series set in a London talent agency where agents scramble to keep star clients happy whilst stopping their business going under following the sudden death of their founder.
