Business in the City Professional Networking Event 19th May

A lively fusion of almost one hundred alumni and parents, staff and parents of former pupils came together on 19 May at the beautiful and historic Saddler’s Hall in the City of London. They came from the fields of finance, law, technology and digital and represented a range of workplaces -  from large multinational corporates through to  small entrepreneurial start-ups.

Guests had a chance to wander through the impressive Livery and Tunnel Rooms with their display of saddles and also see the original ‘gauntlet’ thrown down by the monarch's Champion of George III, before congregating in the Great Hall for a drinks and canape reception.

Dr Gary Savage, Headmaster, explained the purpose behind this, the latest in a series of networking events and also introduced the School’s Corporate Bursary scheme.

Guest speaker, Sacha Sadan, Director of Corporate Governance and on the Board at Legal and General Investment Management, spoke on the growing consumer desire for environmental and social governance and the need for ‘diversity of thought' in building a successful business future.

Anniversary Duke of Edinburgh Dinner - 12th May

Participants, awardees, organisers and assessors from the last four decades gathered at Alleyn’s on 12th May for a black tie dinner held in the Great Hall to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme at Alleyn’s and its 60th anniversary nationally.  At tables adorned with wildflowers and lit by tealights in hurricane lamps, guests were treated to entertaining speeches from Laura Packer, the first of this year’s Year 13’s to achieve her Gold Award, Richard Alldrick, Alleyn’s Award Manager for the past 17 years and Jon Lilly, former Deputy Head and instrumental in founding the Scheme at Alleyn’s. It was a lovely evening and hugely enjoyed by all who attended.

Alleyn's Reunion at Durham 4th May

Mr Andy Skinnard, Senior Deputy Head, went up to Durham on 4th May to meet alumni for an informal, relaxed and happy reunion.

Calling all the Seven's! We hope to see you on 17th June for the biggest Reunion of them all!

Saturday 17th June is the reunion for all the leavers from the Classes of 1957, '67, '77, '87 and '97.  Invitations have gone out to all those for whom we hold details so, if you would like to come and have not received an invitation, get in touch at

It's a lovely day but don't just take our word for it.  Here are just some of the lovely comments we received from last year's guests...

"Thank you for laying on a truly fantastic and heartwarming reunion - from the moment I arrived at the gates and met one of my classmates I couldn't have enjoyed it more - amazing how camaraderie can last 30 years even between people who haven't seen each other in all that time."

"A really outstanding school reunion. I enjoyed every minute – the big welcome, the tours, meeting the prefects, the Headmaster’s speeches, a great lunch and meeting AOBs I hadn’t met for 60 years. I felt very lucky and proud to be a member of the Alleyns community".

"A fantastic decade reunion last Saturday. It's a long time since I left Alleyns but it seemed no time at all since we had left and everyone made us feel very welcome."
