Desert Island Discs with Reverend Buckley

A large swathe of the Alleyn's community came together last night at the MCT to enjoy an evening with our much-loved Chaplain, Reverend Anthony Buckley. Compered by Deputy Head Andy Skinnard, the Desert Island Discs event was a wonderful occasion; great fun, personal and poignant by turns.

Limited to only one track by Elvis Presley (a real challenge!), Reverend Buckley opted for the less well-known track (Marie's the Name) His Latest Flame; and revealed its link to his first meeting with Alleyn's Headmaster, Dr Savage. There were other surprises tunes too, with Puff the Magic Dragon not least amongst them.

It was lovely to see so many pupils, parents and colleagues gathered to honour Reverend Buckley and mark his ten years of service to Alleyn's; in which he has given so much to so many.
