Jennifer Pike Violin Masterclass

Three pupils were fortunate enough to be given a masterclass by acclaimed violinist Jennifer Pike. Following a debut as winner of the BBC Young musician of the Year in 2002, Jennifer is in demand as a soloist and recitalist, with a widely acclaimed discography and an MBE for her services to music.

The lucky young violinists today were Alice in Year 7, who was working on a Vivaldi: Violin Concerto in G Minor Op.8 No.2 ‘Summer’ from Le quattro stagioni. I: Allegro non molto; Tabitha in Year 12, who was receiving instruction from Jennifer on Bruch: Violin Concerto in G Minor Op.26 I: Vorspiel – Allegro moderato; and Jemima in Year 13, who Jennifer was helping with her Bach: Concerto in A minor BWV 1040 I: Allegro moderato.

As part of the Alleyn’s International Concert Series, Jennifer will be performing five pieces from Lili Boulanger, Mozart, Beethoven, Jeremy Pike and Grieg with Martin Roscoe tomorrow evening in the MCT. Details and booking here.
