Partnership is part of an Alleyn’s education.
At Alleyn’s, we believe education should extend beyond the classroom and beyond the school gates. Through our partnerships programme, pupils work alongside local schools, community organisations and young people across Southwark and beyond – sharing experiences, learning from one another and making a meaningful contribution to our local community.
At Alleyn’s we believe that diversity of experience prepares children to go out into the world and make the most of the multitude of opportunities it presents.
Our partnerships programme takes pupils on a voyage of self-discovery through a tailored curriculum designed to build essential life skills alongside confidence and empathy.

Why does this progression matter? Because partnership does more than build communication, empathy, confidence, initiative and leadership. Above all, it helps young people understand that they belong to something larger than themselves.
Our partnerships are built on collaboration and reciprocity.
We work closely with primary and secondary schools, charities and community organisations to understand where we can contribute, while recognising how much our own pupils and staff gain from working alongside others.
That can mean a Year 11 Alleyn’s student mentoring a Year 5 mathematician on a Saturday morning; a Year 12 student delivering science, music, drama or sport in a local primary school; pupils from different Southwark schools working together through the Southwark Schools Learning Partnership; or students establishing and leading an initiative that can be shared across the borough.
The activities are diverse, but the principle is consistent: young people working with young people, taking increasing responsibility and discovering what they can contribute.
Our partnerships span academic enrichment, sport, music, the arts, volunteering, mentoring, social action, charitable work and the sharing of our facilities and expertise.
Some opportunities are led by staff. Increasingly, others are shaped and led by pupils themselves.
Together they form something bigger than a collection of outreach activities. They are part of our ambition to develop young people who are curious about the world around them, confident working with people different from themselves and prepared to use their skills, energy and influence for the benefit of others.
That is the journey we want partnership to offer every Alleyn’s pupil.
