Alumni, spanning the decades from the Forties to the 2000s and from as far away as Australia, and former staff came together to be regaled with a day full of reunion and reminiscences on Saturday 15 June. Over 500 guests gathered for The Big Reunion, a special event held at School in honour of the 400th anniversary year. A Commemorative Service, held in Christ’s Chapel and led by Alleyn's School Chaplain Liz Lander, started the day and also welcomed a wonderful congregation.
The Lower School provided an excellent 'Welcome Hub' where guests heard from Headmaster Dr Gary Savage about the anniversary year and the importance of the alumni community. It was wonderful to see so many alumni and former staff sharing memories with each other and current staff and pupils, enjoying tours, meeting old friends in our 'decades rooms' and taking part in House activities for all-important points!
There was a well-attended ‘All@Alleyns’ talk on Shakespeare, demos in the new gym showing Sport at Alleyn’s in 2019, nostalgic and fun House Games in the Quad, tours of the School site showing off the Summer Show (Art, Design & Media) and 400th Exhibition Boards and displays.
All then gathered for a buffet lunch before assembling in the Quad for a final group photo.
