Mrs Laura Malkin
Position:
Chair; Chair of the Strategy Committee, member of the Finance and General Purposes Committee and the Nominations Committee.

Biography:
Laura has worked in the education sector with numerous institutions, from primary through to post graduate levels in the UK and the US as a teacher, manager, executive and advisor. Currently, she evaluates applications and administers bursaries for the Thomas’s Foundation, serves as a governor of Chelsea Academy, a trustee of the Ashburnham Community School Association, a trustee emerita of Wellesley College and on several advisory boards at Harvard University.
Laura sat on the Alleyn’s Parents’ Association from 2000-2010 during which time she and her husband had four daughters in the school. She served as APA Chair from 2005-07.

MR Charles Barclay
Position:
Vice Chair; Member of the Education Committee.

Biography:
Charles is the Worshipful Company of Saddlers' representative on the Governing Board. Charles was Prime Warden of the Saddlers' Company in 2015-16, following in his father’s footsteps. He was educated at Westminster School and St Andrew’s University (Astronomy and Astrophysics). After a spell in the City with Barclays Bank, he switched to teaching; first Physics at Clifton College, then Westminster School and finally, with Astronomy and Extended Project, at Marlborough College. Charles was keen oarsman in his youth and is a member of Leander. He now runs the Blackett Observatory and is Chair of Examiners for GCSE Astronomy, Principal Moderator for Pearson Edexcel Extended Project and was Vice-President of the Royal Astronomical Society 2017-2019.

MRs dianne barratt 
Position:
Member of the Education Committee. Governor with particular responsibility for the Junior School.

Biography:
Dianne grew up in the north east of England and trained as a teacher at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, obtaining a B.Ed in 1977 and later an M.Ed. in psychology. She has worked in a wide variety of schools during her teaching career, both maintained and independent, including two years spent teaching in the USA and several years working in special schools with children with emotional difficulties.
Her final appointment before retirement was Head of Prospect House School in Putney from 2004 to 2017. She was an ISI inspector for twelve years and currently is retained as an advisor for IAPS schools on safeguarding and compliance matters.
Dianne has two daughters who were both educated at Alleyn’s.

MR BEN BENNETT

Biography:
Educated at Alleyn’s (1980-1987) and School Vice-Captain (1986-87), Ben graduated with a degree in Law from St John’s College, Cambridge University, before obtaining an MBA at Henley Business School. Subsequently, he has worked as a senior executive in the professional services sector, having been a partner and holding senior strategic and operational roles in each of the legal, accountancy and property sectors.

PROFESSOR Madeleine Campbell
Position:
Member of the Education Committee.

Biography:
Educated at Alleyn’s (1979-1986), where she was School Captain. Madeleine completed a degree in Modern History and Economics at Oxford before qualifying as a Veterinary Surgeon (BVetMed) with Honours in 1996 (The Royal Veterinary College). She subsequently undertook a PhD in Equine Reproduction, 2003 (London University). Madeleine was recognised as a Veterinary Specialist in Equine Reproduction by the European College of Animal Reproduction (2003) and The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (2006), and as a European Diplomat in Animal Welfare Science, Ethics and Law (2015). She also obtained a MA in Medical Ethics and Law from Keele University, 2012 gaining Distinction for both course work and thesis. In addition to her clinical work, Madeleine is Professor of Veterinary Ethics at Nottingham Veterinary School, and also teaches and researches at The Royal Veterinary College.
In addition to her academic appointments, Madeleine continues to practice as a Diplomate in clinical equine reproduction.

Mr jESSE eLZINGA

Biography:
Jesse was educated at Harvard University, where he gained a BA Honours cum laude in Comparative Religion and Philosophy, and at Oxford University, where his MSt focused on ethical philosophy. He has been Headmaster at Sevenoaks School since September 2020. Before this, he was Headmaster at Reading Blue Coat School in Berkshire. He has taught at Harrow, St Edward’s School in Oxford and Whitgift School. Jesse was a three-time national champion rower at Harvard and Oxford, and a competitive cyclist.

MS SHONA HENDERSON

Biography:
Shona studied Economics with Accounting at Bristol University. She has held senior positions in PricewaterhouseCoopers, the professional services firm, and in Government at HM Treasury and in the Cabinet Office.
Shona is a qualified accountant who, after a brief spell in audit, moved into the corporate and project finance world. She specialises in the procurement, financing and management of public sector infrastructure, including schools & hospitals.
Shona has three grown-up daughters.

MisS FAITH Locken
Position:

Biography:
Educated at Alleyn’s (2004 - 2011) where she was Roper’s House Captain (2010 - 2011), Faith completed her undergraduate in Spanish and Chinese studies from the University of Nottingham (2015) and went on to complete a Masters in Real Estate Finance and Investment from the University of West England (2018). Faith is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and worked in real estate and the built environment for over a decade before persuing entrepreneurship. Faith is Founder & CEO of We Rise In, whose mission is to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion in corporate industries through professional training and development programmes.
In addition to this, Faith is also a Non-Executive Director at Richmond Housing Partnership Group serving on the Board as well as on the Group’s Investment Committee.

MS JENNIFER SCOTT

Biography:
Jennifer took her BA and MA in the History of Art at the Courtauld Institute, University of London. She is Chair of the AFC Wimbledon Foundation, Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries and a Fellow-Commoner of Lucy Cavendish College, University of Cambridge.
Jennifer has been The Sackler Director of Dulwich Picture Gallery since April 2017, with responsibility for the artistic vision, management, and strategic leadership of the world’s first purpose-built public art gallery. She was formerly the Director of the Holburne Museum, Bath and Curator of Paintings at Royal Collection Trust, having previously worked in the curatorial departments of the National Gallery, London and National Museums Liverpool.
She has curated numerous exhibitions, including Rembrandt’s Light (Dulwich Picture Gallery, 2019), Bruegel: Defining a Dynasty (The Holburne Museum, 2017), and Bruegel to Rubens: Masters of Flemish Painting (The Queen’s Galleries Edinburgh and London, and The Royal Museum of Fine Arts, Brussels, 2007-2009). She has published widely on Dutch and Flemish painting and wrote the first survey of state portraiture from within the British Royal Collection, The Royal Portrait: Image and Impact (2010).

MR CHRIS STYLIANOU OBE

Biography:
Chris was educated at Slough Grammar School and then at Bristol University, where he studied Physics. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant at KPMG, working across several industries including banking, retail, manufacturing and latterly, media and entertainment. Chris spent most of his career at Sky Plc in Finance and Operations, becoming both the Deputy Chief Financial Officer and the Chief Operating Officer.
Chris served on the Women’s Business Council (a government backed committee) to improve gender equality in UK businesses. In recognition of his services to Diversity and The Economy, he was awarded an OBE in 2020.
Chris is now semi-retired and is active in the Charity sector, spending time focusing on food banks and elderly loneliness. His two daughters and son have all attended Alleyn’s, and his family has lived in Dulwich for the last 15 years.

Ms Helen thomas-feeney
Position:

Biography:
Helen is a business columnist at the Financial Times. She was previously the business editor on BBC Newsnight for five years. Helen worked at the Wall Street Journal from 2013 to 2016, after nine years as a reporter for the FT in London and New York.
Helen began her career with a short spell in investment banking at JP Morgan. She studied PPE at Corpus Christi College, Oxford after leaving Alleyn's in 1997.

Mr Peter Yetzes
Position:
Member of the Finance & General Purposes Committee and the Strategy Committee. Director of Alleyn's School Enterprises Limited and Trustee of the Dulwich Estate.

Biography:
Peter was educated at Alleyn's from 1960-1968 and was House Captain of Tulley’s. His career was primarily in public sector finance and until 2010 he was a Director of the Audit Commission where he developed the internationally renowned National Fraud Initiative. Peter is currently Executive Chairman of a group of recruitment companies operating in the IT, Nursing and the Education sectors. His son and daughter attended Alleyn’s between 1984 and 1993.

MRS MENNA MCGREGOR
Position:
Clerk to the Governors.

Biography:
Menna studied law and was called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn. She was Clerk to the Mercers' Company from 2008 to 2015, having previously spent 13 years working at the National Theatre. Menna currently holds a number of trusteeships including The Royal Ballet School, The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, The National Centre for Early Music, Wilton's Music Hall and the Shakespeare Schools Foundation.
