At Alleyn’s Oakfield, it’s exciting to try new things, discover hidden talents, and shine in every way.
Alleyn’s Oakfield has a vibrant and varied co-curricular programme, designed to give children the chance to discover new interests, develop existing talents and gain independence in a supportive environment. There is something for everyone and many children immerse themselves in a great range of activities from sports, drama and art to more academic endeavours.
Alleyn’s Oakfield offers extensive wraparound care during term time, with provision available from 7.40am until 6.00pm each day. This provides flexibility for families and ensures that children are welcomed into school and cared for by our dedicated team at the beginning and end of each day.
Early Birds Club
Early Birds Club opens at 7.40am each morning. Children enjoy a healthy breakfast of porridge, cereals, toast, eggs, fruit, yoghurt and juices, before taking part in a range of recreational activities under the care of experienced staff. Sessions are held in the Prep Hall for older pupils and the Pre-Prep Hall for younger children.
After School Care runs daily from 3.45pm–6.00pm (or from 4.30pm following co-curricular activities). A light snack of sandwiches, fruit and drinks is provided, and pupils in Years 2–6 are supported with homework should they wish. Activities include board games, constructional toys, art and craft, indoor and outdoor play, and computer-based learning. Parents and carers may collect children at any time before 6.00pm.
A wide range of clubs and activities is offered from Reception upwards, giving every child the opportunity to explore new passions and develop their skills.
Clubs are run by both Alleyn’s Oakfield staff and visiting specialists and take place before school (?) at lunchtimes and after school. The programme changes each term so that children can experience a variety of activities throughout the year. This flexibility allows pupils to try new things as well as deepen their involvement in favourite pursuits.
We encourage all children to participate in the co-curricular programme, which complements their classroom learning, nurtures confidence and builds lasting friendships.
Our recent awards and accomplishments demonstrate a wide breadth of passion and skills amongst our pupils:
Educational visits form an important part of school life at Alleyn’s Oakfield, offering children enriching experiences beyond the classroom. These range from day trips to local museums and galleries through to residential adventures that foster independence, resilience and teamwork. The cost of all trips is included within the school fees.
Trips may vary from year to year to embed learning into the learning themes of the term, or year. Past trips have included immersive residential experiences, cultural and historical visits, and interactive science and nature outings. From Reception right through to Year 6, pupils may explore London landmarks such as the Sky Garden, visit the Science Museum, or discover wildlife at the London Zoo. Residential trips have offered exciting challenges, from living and learning in a Tudor manor house to developing teamwork and leadership through outdoor activities and sailing adventures, to putting language skills into practice across the ocean.
These opportunities encourage pupils to engage with the wider world, build confidence, and develop skills that enrich both their learning and personal growth. While the exact trips may vary from year to year, all pupils benefit from a vibrant programme that brings learning to life.
