We keep parents up to date through a range of channels, from more formal structures such as letters from the Head, parents' consultation evenings, coffee mornings and lunches, through to our weekly Alleyn's Oakfield On Point newsletter and the Learning Corner.
Parent's also have access to our school Parent Portal Engage, which gives more information on who's who on staff, what's on the menu for lunch, access to forms, calendars, correspondence and much more.
Sports Fixtures listings can also be found here, and parents can access their child's reports through our Parents Portal.
You may also wish to follow us on Facebook @AlleynsOakfield, or Instagram @AlleynsOakfield, which provide a regular insight into activities that are happening at the school.

Lessons finish at 3.15pm and the children then spend 15 minutes with their teachers where they organise their homework and bag, and reflect on the day, which ends at 3:30pm.
Gates close for all Pre-prep year groups at 3.40pm.

The school runs a flexible After School Care scheme for any child from 3.30 pm until 6.00 pm, where children can complete homework tasks, play board games, use the Library or play outside with members of the after-school care staff.
The Alleyn's Oakfield Breakfast Club provides breakfast for pupils of any age. Operating from 7.40am in the Pre Prep Hall for children in Nursery to Year 2, and the Prep Hall for Years 3 to 6 respectively.
Parents can drop off and register their children at the Dining Room from 7:30am and we ask that any pupils attending arrive by 8am, to allow time to eat breakfast before 8:15am. Children who travel to school unsupervised can register themselves.
In the academic year 2025/26 the cost of the club is £8.50 for ad hoc drop-off, or £7.50 per session if booked for a full term. This is added to your school fees, irrespective of how long a child is at the session or what they eat. The children are provided with a continental style breakfast buffet and on Fridays we offer a cooked hot breakfast as well of pancakes, waffles or pastries.
At 8:30am, supervising staff will take the children to their class lines for handover direct to their teachers.
There is no need to pre-book places, pupils can just turn up on the day. However, you can pre-book for the term for a cheaper rate.
We can cater for all allergies or dietary requirements, and the same allergy controls and procedures will apply as at other times. If there are ever any changes to your child’s requirements, please notify the office on [email protected] and your child’s record can be updated.
If you need to contact the Breakfast Club Manager, then please use the following email: [email protected].
After School Care (ASC) is a popular service that we offer to care for children between 3:30pm and 6:00pm in a safe and comfortable environment. It is run by our ASC Team which includes a manager and after school care staff including teaching assistants and sports staff.
Yes, we encourage families to book this in advance, but we do have the facility to accommodate up to 4 additional children on an ad hoc basis.
If you are running late or plans have changed, your child will be able to attend as an ad hoc booking and will be escorted to the ASC team by a member of staff. Please contact the office on 020 8670 4206 or contact Mrs Papa on [email protected] to notify us of the change. You will be charged at the not pre-booked rates.
Our After School Care Club provides a safe, nurturing and enjoyable end to the school day, where children can relax, socialise and explore a range of activities in a calm, well-supervised environment.
For Pre Prep children, the focus is on gentle transition and reassurance. Pupils enjoy a mix of creative play, stories, crafts, outdoor time and quiet activities, supported by familiar adults who understand the needs of younger children. Sessions are carefully structured to balance energy and rest, helping children feel settled and secure after a busy day of learning.
For Prep children, the club offers greater independence and choice. Pupils can take part in organised games, creative projects, reading, board games or outdoor activities, as well as quiet time to unwind or complete homework if they wish. The atmosphere is relaxed but purposeful, encouraging friendship, confidence and responsibility.
Across all age groups, children are offered a healthy snack and benefit from consistent routines, clear expectations and a caring team who ensure every child feels valued, safe and happy at the end of the day.
Picking up from ASC
Parents can pick up at any time before 6pm. Pre prep parents should pick up from pre prep hall doors, while Prep pupils can be collected from the Bursars door. If a child is collected after 6pm a late penalty charge is applied of £7 for every 5 minutes.

Over the coming years we will be transitioning to an Alleyn’s uniform. The new uniform will be available to purchase ahead of the school year beginning in September 2026, and many elements are already worn across the school so reducing the need to purchase new items when uniform still fits.
All new pupils will be wearing the new uniform, and we encourage parents to move to the new uniform as soon as possible over the coming 18 months, with the exception of current Year 4 pupils and above (graduating in or before 2028).
If needed pupils may wear a mix of old and new uniform during the transition period, if all items are neat and within the dress code. Wherever possible, we encourage pupils to wear the full new uniform and to complete the changeover as soon as they are able.
Our uniform and sports kit will be available to order from July via our uniform providers School Blazer and Kitlocker. Further details on uniform can be found on the School Uniform Page.
The Alleyn’s Oakfield PTA also sell a full range of good quality second hand school uniform which will soon transition to the new Alleyn’s Oakfield uniform. Sales are held on a regular basis.
On the day of absence, we would be grateful if parents could notify the school by telephone (020 8670 4206) and email to the School Office ([email protected]), copying in their child’s form teacher as early as possible, preferably before 8.30 am, and providing an accurate explanation for the absence.
For absences of more than one day, this procedure should be repeated on each subsequent day.
Parents should only request absence not relating to medical appointments in exceptional circumstances. Any request should be submitted to the Attendance Champion and the Head in advance, by filling in the Absence Request Form which is available from the School Office. Authorisation for any absence remains with the school.
Registration takes place at 8.40am in the children’s individual classroom. Any child who arrives between 8.50am – 9am will be considered late and registered as such.
The school gates are locked at 8.50am, any pupils arriving after this time must enter the building through the main door for pre-prep children, and through the School Reception for children in year 2 to year 6.
The AM registration period will close at 9am. Any pupil arriving after this time will be registered as absent.
If the School Office has not received a telephone call or email from parents by 9am each day explaining the absence, then we will contact the parents/carers via phone calls, messages or emails. If contact cannot be established, the school will escalate to emergency contacts. This is to ensure the safety of the child, especially if they are travelling independently to school.
Unexplained absences will be pursued in the interests of the child in line with our attendance and absence policy, and safeguarding policy, which you can read via the policies page.
If your child is attending school, we expect them to be fit for all normal activities.
Pupils should not return to school:
Parents should telephone 020 8670 4206 or email the School Office on [email protected] on the first morning of absence to inform us that your child will not be at school, and each morning of absence thereafter. The school can and will at times request parents to provide medical evidence to support absence for illness.
The school will usually grant dental and medical appointments as authorised absences. Where possible such appointments should be made outside of school hours and patterned absence for these reasons may be challenged.
While we encourage parents/carers to administer medicines at home wherever possible, if a child requires medication be brought into school, it must be in the original container as dispensed, including instructions for dosage, administration and storage, and should be clearly labelled with the pupil’s name and handed into reception for safe keeping. Our qualified staff will administer the medication if an ‘Administer Medicine Consent Form has been completed and handed into Reception. Forms can be requested from the School Office. If we do not have your written permission, we will not be able to administer your child’s medication. Any administered medications will be recorded by the staff member administering the medication on your Engage Portal.
Almost all antibiotics can now be prescribed on a twice-daily basis: it helps us if you would ask prescribing doctors for twice-daily prescriptions so that medicines need not be brought to school.
All pupils’ medication including inhalers and EpiPens will be kept in the medical bay for Prep pupils, and in the designated First Aid area for Pre Prep pupils. They will be sent home at the end of the Trinity term. If these medications expire before the end of term we will inform you to replace them.
Children who are involved in accidents or taken ill at school are referred to the medical bay where the extent of their injuries or severity of their illness is quickly assessed by our qualified staff. Any treatment that is needed is provided in our medical bay, this area ensures the children have somewhere private and quiet to rest if necessary. All illness or incidents are recorded on our school database and parents will be contacted if necessary.
On entry to the school parents are asked to complete an Individual Health Care Plan form, as part of their Welcome Pack. As well as medical history and emergency contact details, parents are asked to provide written consent for the administration of over-the-counter medication in accordance with this policy. These are paracetamol, ibuprofen and antihistamine medication, and suncream.
Sometimes it may be appropriate to administer Paracetamol or Ibuprofen at school. Your permission will be sought before it is given, and we will record the administration of any medicines given in the Engage Portal.
In the case of all head injuries (defined as any injury to the head area) parents will be informed via the Engage Portal. As well as sending a message, we will also telephone to provide additional information.
Please ensure that you declare all medical details and emergency contact numbers to the school on the appropriate forms and advise the school whenever there is a change of details.

Clubs take place before school, during lunch times or after school. For morning clubs, start times range from 7.40am-8.00 am. Lunch time clubs commence at 12.30 pm and finish at 1.05 pm. After school clubs commence at 3.30 pm and run until 4.30 pm unless otherwise specified. For all early morning sports clubs, pupils are welcome to bring in a suitable breakfast snack (nut and sesame free) to eat in the Exhibition Area, between their club and school registration time.
Club timetables vary from term to term and, except for team practices and musical groups where continuity is desirable, are all voluntary, although we do expect club members to commit themselves for the duration of the term.
