Swim School

Following the success of our week-long intensive swimming lessons held this summer, we are delighted to confirm that, from September, we will be offering a regular learn-to-swim programme that will be held each week on a Saturday morning.

Lessons are scheduled to take place every Saturday in 30-minute blocks between 8:00am to 10:40am.

The first term of lessons will run for 13 weeks starting on Saturday 4 September 2021 to Saturday 11 December 2021, excluding Saturday 11 & 18 September where we will be closed to accommodate School open days. Lessons will continue to run during the October half-term holiday.

To participate children must be aged 4 years old, or above, on or before Saturday 4 September 2021.

As with our intensive course, all swimming teachers are Level 2 qualified with Swim England or the Swimming Teacher Association (STA) and lessons will also be supervised by qualified Lifeguards. Class sizes are kept small (between 6 to 8 pupils per teacher) to ensure plenty of individual tuition for each swimmer. Teachers will accompany non-swimmers in the water and aim to provide an environment, which is fun, warm, friendly and enjoyable.  Parents are welcome to watch their children swim from our first-class spectator area overlooking the pool.

The overall cost for the September to December 2021 term is £188.50 per child which is equivalent to £14.50 per lesson, termly payments must be paid upfront for the full course of 13 weeks. Courses are sold on a first come first served basis.

They are available to book online by clicking HERE or directy below.

Please direct enquiries to the course management team Stefan Gibberd or Joel Stewart at swim@alleyns.org.uk.

UPDATE (Monday 09/08/2021 @ 2:30pm) -

There has been enormous interest in the termly learn-to-swim programme, and all but one of our courses (the advanced class) sold out shortly after being released. We apologise for any disappointment caused where parents have been unable to book a place for their child.

Please may we ask that parents who have a continued interest in attending a course with us in September to sign-up to the waiting list below, and we will be in touch over the coming weeks if there are cancellations. We are also considering options for running additional classes where there is demand and where we can provide staff, we will provide an update to those on the waiting list over the coming weeks.

Ability Levels Explained

Please review the ability bandings, below, to select the most suitable course for your child.

The description listed at each level is our aim for where your child will be at the end of the term. If your child does not yet meet the criteria, then this is the appropriate class for them.
