Professor Charles Foster
Being the Beast
Is it possible to enter the sensory worlds of non-human animals? Indeed, is it possible to enter any world other than your own? In this romp through biology, philosophy, rivers, mountains and woods, Charles Foster asks whether we're condemned for ever to imprisonment inside our own skulls, and invites badgers, foxes, otters, red deer and swifts to help him escape.
Charles Foster is a Fellow of Exeter College, Oxford, the author of many books, including the New York Times Bestseller, Being a Beast, which won the IgNobel Prize for Biology. He has had an exceptionally varied career, including veterinary surgeon and barrister.
