"At the heart of our school community are the children, from Reception to Year 6, who flourish within an avowedly co-educational and academically selective setting. Through the hard work and inspiration of the staff, the children are given the opportunity to enjoy a broad academic curriculum that is complemented by a rich co-curricular programme and supported by our excellent pastoral care, which places the class teacher at the heart of each child’s education and welfare.
The children are encouraged to show ambition and commitment, develop resilience and be creative and intellectually curious. Performing and having fun on a variety of stages, be it sport, drama or music, are actively encouraged. The foundations of life-long learning are established here and promoted through our Learning Dispositions. Being part of the wider Alleyn’s School and sharing the same educational vision brings great benefits of continuity of education as well as the opportunity to share top class facilities.
The Junior School is modest in size and intimate in feel so enabling every child to be known and their needs understood and characters nurtured. We work hard to understand and cater to the needs of both boys and girls and this results in a wide spectrum of different types of children who thrive within the school.
Our prospectus and website will offer an insight into our school life but to gain a genuine sense of the ethos and energy of the school we encourage a visit to an Open Day or a tour of the school. There you will see how the children engage with their learning, with each other and with their teachers and see how they uphold the school values. We also enjoy a strong partnership with our parent body to support the children, not just in their learning, but in the fostering of a close school community that is so healthy and welcoming to both child and parent. I have no doubt that our current parents will offer useful insights into life at Alleyn’s Junior School.
We very much look forward to welcoming you and your child to Alleyn’s Junior School for a visit."
