Community & Partnership
Our School vision includes the aim of 'building positive local, national and international partnerships and providing opportunities for our pupils and staff to make a difference; whilst cherishing our community of pupils, parents, staff and alumni, and honouring our continuing commitment to Edward Alleyn's charitable foundation of 'God's Gift'.
In support of this vision, the School and its pupils participate in a range of partnership, volunteering and outreach activities. Please click on each individual project at the bottom of this page to find out more. Volunteering for pupils in Years 10-13 takes place exclusively as part of the Thursday afternoon activities programme. Year 12 and Year 8 pupils also fully engage with our Monday afternoon Outreach opportunities. In addition to these major areas of our partnership work we work closely with Southwark Community Education Charity, Southwark Schools’ Learning Partnership, multiple charities and global partnerships, the Alms House (as part of The Foundation) and our partner School which is the London Academy of Excellence, Tottenham. A summary of all or partnership work and projects can be found on the Schools Together website.
Access to facilities, such as the theatre, swimming pool and sports grounds - is provided free of charge to local schools. During the past academic year, 16 local schools have used our facilities for a range of projects. This includes regular use of the School's playing fields to deliver PE lessons, sports fixtures, forest school activities and annual sports days, swimming lessons provided by our team of swimming teachers and numerous school plays and music productions being held in the theatre.
Free or reduced rate access to facilities is also available to charities, and to other local community organisations, and we continue to support an additional 20 community projects each year. For other groups, our facilities are available for commercial hire through Alleyn's School Enterprises Limited, with the profits from such arrangements being gifted back to the School to support its charitable activities.
