Alleyn’s School
Roper’s started the extreme pancake tossing competition to try to increase the number of competitions that we were winning. The competition is held each year around Shrove Tuesday in the quad with a giant scale suspended from a Geography corridor window. Each House champion has three throws to toss a pancake as high as they can on a bed of greaseproof paper. The pancake has to be caught to count. In the last three years Roper’s have won the championship thanks to House Champion Adam Senn who left the School the undefeated champion with a toss of 21 feet. The trophy is a mounted blini pan.
