The Front Lawn

Stephen Duffield, one of the School’s gardeners, has elected the front lawn. In the 1890s, the Headmaster’s Lawn appeared and on it stood the school band each afternoon to play ‘The Fusiliers’ while the school marched past as a dismissal ceremony, doffing their caps to the Headmaster who stood on the steps. No such dismissal ceremony exists today.
