We have been very lucky to have an inflatable planetarium visit Alleyn’s Junior School. All of the children throughout the school have had a chance to spend some time in the planetarium which, if you were to enter, seems like a world away from our world in itself. Infants counted start and were introduced to the planets and Juniors were shown nebulae and examined the Sun through an ultraviolet filter – showing cascading magnetic arches up close and personal.
All of this was made possible because of a winning entry into a recent competition that a Year 5 pupil won back in Advent Term. Not only did she have a star named after herself (and one for AJS!) but also this fantastic experience that all the pupils (and staff) have been able to enjoy.
