Year 11 pupils kicked-off the new School year with a look to the future in a Careers Launch, held in the Great Hall within a Personal, Social, Citizenship and Health Education (PSCHE) session.
Alleyn’s new Head of Careers, Mrs Gina Visram, delivered the session and talked passionately to pupils about:
Mrs Visram said: “Beyond being an important year academically due to GCSEs, Year 11 is also a year in which pupils make some important decisions about their future. Picking A levels and / or making other post-16 education and training choices are decisions which can shape a young person’s future. The Year 11 Careers Launch is a regular fixture in the School calendar and provides pupils with an excellent opportunity to positively engage with the programme early on in the year.”
Alleyn’s dedicated Careers team is on hand every day to help pupils with careers education, information and guidance. The Careers programme will receive some exciting enhancements this year; and pupils have been encouraged to email and / or get involved with upcoming focus groups so they can provide important pupil insight into these new initiatives.
