Visit by Lord Peter Hain

On Wednesday 13 November, Year 5 were treated to a lecture by Lord Peter Hain about his experiences growing up in apartheid-era South Africa, a topic Year 5 have been studying in great detail of late. Lord Hain spoke to them about his family’s part in the struggle against apartheid in South Africa and their link to Nelson Mandela. It was a truly absorbing hour and we all learnt so much about this fascinating, yet tragic part of history.
