Alleyn’s School is a leading co-educational independent day school in Dulwich, London, educating pupils aged 4–18 across its Senior School and two Junior Schools: Alleyn’s Oakfield and Alleyn’s Junior School.
This week Saturday Maths began again in earnest. Usually delivered across Advent and Lent terms, the scheme was delayed this academic year due to the extra planning required by Covid-19 restrictions, but it was a delight to begin work again with the Southwark Community Education Charity - with whom we have worked in partnership for nearly 30 years.
The first session was opened by Head, Mrs Lunnon, who was welcomed by Year 5 pupils from local state schools, all ready and waiting on screen waiting to find out about the history of numbers - the fascinating topic for session 1!
Overall we welcomed 40 Year 5 families, whose children will be mentored during the scheme by Alleyn's Year 11 students who give up a valuable slice of their weekend to volunteer. We are always very proud of their efforts and their contribution.
At Alleyn’s Oakfield, every child is nurtured to grow with confidence and curiosity. Occasional vacancies are now open across all year groups with an assured place to Alleyn's Senior School at 11+. To apply click here.
