Alleyn’s School is delighted to announce the appointment of Peter Whitmell as the new Head of Alleyn’s Oakfield, effective from September 2026.
Peter brings extensive academic and pastoral leadership experience, alongside a strong commitment to ensuring every child is supported to thrive. As Jane Lunnon, Head of Alleyn’s School, reflects, “His belief in prioritising the individual needs of every child make him perfectly suited to leading a school where every child participates fully in school life, building confidence, resilience and a lifelong love of learning.”
Joining at an important moment in the school’s development, Peter shared his enthusiasm for the role and his excitement to lead Alleyn’s Oakfield into its next chapter, working closely with pupils, families and staff.
Alleyn’s Oakfield, one of two Alleyn’s Junior schools based in Dulwich, joined the Alleyn’s School family in August 2025. The school provides education for boys and girls aged 4 to 11, with pupils progressing through to Alleyn’s Senior School.
As the school continues to grow within the Alleyn’s family, Peter’s appointment marks an exciting step forward, bringing energy, care and leadership to the next phase of its development.
