As part of Multicultural Week, our first International Cultural Evening, held on Thursday, was an unforgettable celebration of togetherness, flavour and global culture, bringing families together from across the Alleyn’s community.
The EAB building was transformed for the evening, with all three floors alive with pupils, parents, staff and friends. Around 20 vibrant stalls, run by the generous parents of our pupils, offered an incredible selection of home-cooked dishes representing cultures from across the world. Guests enjoyed food from Ethiopia, Brazil, Nigeria, China, Ukraine, Guinea-Bissau, Greece, France, Jamaica, Korea, Romania, India, Malaysia, Norway, South Africa and even the UK.
The atmosphere throughout the evening was vibrant and deeply moving. The EAB foyer was filled with energy, collaboration and joy, as families mingled, shared stories and celebrated the richness of the school’s cultural diversity. Stunning traditional dress filled the space with colour and pride, reflecting the care and generosity with which families shared their cultures.
Live entertainment added to the sense of celebration, with steel pans, music and dancing creating a truly joyful soundtrack to the evening. The event concluded with a lively global dance session led by Anita Makwana of Discover Dance UK, bringing everyone together on the dance floor in a wonderful moment of shared joy.
Many thanks to everyone who attended and to those who gave so much time and effort to bring a taste of their own cultures to school. Our sincere thanks also go to our dedicated APA representatives, to Mrs Visram and Mrs Francis for leading the coordination of the week, and to Nneka Eze, parent, Governor and convenor of the Black Parents’ Network, whose creativity and energy sat at the heart of the event.
The International Cultural Evening was a truly wholesome and memorable night, and a powerful reminder of the strength, warmth and diversity of the Alleyn’s community.

Occasional vacancies are now open for ages 5+, 6+, 8+, and 10+, with an assured place to Alleyn's Senior School at 11+.
