Our Year 10 Germanists travelled to the BFI for a German Study Day exploring identity and belonging through film.

During the interactive workshop, students watched a variety of German-language clips, analysing the characters and film techniques and sharing their own insights.

After enjoying their packed lunches in the public spaces of the National Theatre, the students were treated to a screening of the acclaimed German film Almanya, which explores the struggles of a Turkish immigrant family in 1960s Germany.
