A huge thank you to alumnus Hervé Heyndrickx (Cribb’s 2023) for returning to Alleyn’s to support more than 250 delegates, from Alleyn’s and 14 other schools across 11 different countries, at the recent 2026 Model United Nations conference.
In partnership with COBIS, this year’s three-day MUN conference hosted at Alleyn’s brought together bold ideas, powerful debate and delegates ready to lead. Hervé, who first became involved with MUN while at Alleyn’s, has continued to be passionately involved and, alongside his studies, is now Partnerships Manager of KULMUN - an MUN organisation in Belgium.
During the conference Hervé led high-level committee sessions, delivering an insightful and engaging talk on the impact of MUN outside the committee room, and how the UN shapes global politics. He inspired students to continue to be involved in MUN beyond school, sharing his passion and continued involvement.
The conference, which also saw the return of the Model Arctic Council, involved a keynote insight from Mr Simon Wood - British Ambassador to the DPRK, and had student-led debate at the heart of it all, was a true celebration of international education and global thinking in action.
The Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations where students play the role of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real world issues with the policies and perspectives of their assigned country. It continues to be hugely popular at Alleyn’s offering one of the most powerful ways for students to debate, collaborate, and see the world through different lenses.
A huge thank you to Hervé for championing global thinking and inspiring our MUN delegates.
