The spirit of Alleyn’s fives was as vibrant as ever at this year’s Alumni Fives Reunion on Saturday 14 March, where generations of players returned to the courts for another energetic and joyful gathering celebrating the game that has long connected the Alleyn’s community. We were joined by alumni spanning the years - from our most recent leavers, the Class of 2025, through to the Class of 1967 with alumnus David Hebden (Cribb's 1967), who has a court named after him at Alleyn's, in attendance.
As always, the courts came alive with friendly competition. Many alumni donned their gloves once more to take on current Alleyn’s players, offering challenge and enthusiasm as the pupils sharpen their form ahead of upcoming tournaments. Others enjoyed catching up from the sidelines of the John Pretlove (Cribb’s 1951) Fives Courts.
After a morning of spirited matches and camaraderie, alumni and current players came together for a well‑earned lunch and an opportunity to reconnect, reflect, and celebrate the legacy of fives at Alleyn’s. With roots tracing back to 1905, the sport continues to be a defining part of our school’s tradition and community.
And the weekend held even more to celebrate when the Alleyn’s girls’ fives team delivered an exceptional performance on Sunday 15 March, proudly winning the National Girls Schools Championships.

Occasional vacancies are now open for ages 5+, 6+, 8+, and 10+, with an assured place to Alleyn's Senior School at 11+.
