Congratulations to all 42 Year 11 students who recently completed their Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Qualifying Expedition in the South Downs.

The expedition took place during a period of extreme heat, providing an additional challenge for all participants. Despite the demanding conditions, every student demonstrated outstanding resilience, teamwork, navigation skills, and determination throughout the journey.

Staff were incredibly impressed by the way students supported one another, managed the challenging weather, and maintained a positive attitude from start to finish. Their efforts paid off, with all participants successfully completing the expedition and passing with flying colours.

This achievement marks a significant milestone in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award journey. The next step for participants is to ensure that all sections of their Award have been completed and signed off so that their Silver Award can be officially approved.

Mr Alldrick would like to thank all students for their hard work and commitment and is looking forward to seeing many of them continue on to the Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

The Gold Award brings even greater opportunities, challenges, and rewards. The question is: are you up for the challenge?
