We made our way on the MCT stage for the last time, the leaver's show: a celebration of Year 13, of the talent, humour, and individuality that have defined us. The evening unfolded as a vibrant selection of all sorts, bringing together an eclectic range of performances ranging from intimate solos to powerful large-scale dances. Among these was even a spirited rendition of the Barden Bellas' iconic final performance as well as pop song performances of Katy Perry and Justin Bieber. Yet perhaps the most poignant moment was from our very own School Captain, Chloe Masson, whose performance of "Naughty" from Matilda the Musical served as both a tribute to her Year 7 self and a testament to the journey we have all taken.
On the surface it was a change to raise funds for our end of year celebrations, but to us it turned into something more meaningful. Through long rehearsals fit in busy schedules, fleeting backstage laughter, and the simplicity of creating something together, we came to realise the true value of the evening. Although the performances may be unpolished and imperfect, the memories forged along the way let us solidify our shared appreciation for one another. This Tuesday may have been our final performance at Alleyn's but the bonds we have built will last a lifetime.
