Year 10 GCSE Spanish pupils enjoyed an unforgettable immersion trip to Málaga this week, experiencing the language and rich culture of Andalusia first-hand. Staying with carefully selected host families, pupils developed confidence speaking Spanish in real-life situations while embracing local customs and daily routines.

Each morning, pupils attended engaging lessons led by native Spanish teachers, helping to strengthen communication skills in an interactive environment. Afternoons were filled with cultural and leisure activities, including a lively flamenco workshop and visit to a traditional tablao, as well as a hands-on cooking class preparing paella and salmorejo.

Pupils explored Málaga’s vibrant city centre, shopped along Calle Larios, and discovered the city’s rich history at the Alcazaba. A boat trip along the coast and a day at Aqualand added to the excitement. Pupils were also lucky enough to join the celebratory parade of Málaga CF, who had just secured promotion to La Liga, creating a truly memorable experience.

Pupils celebrated the national San Juan festival with their host families, visiting the beach at midnight for fireworks. This enriching visit balanced learning and cultural discovery, leaving pupils with lasting memories.
