Alleyn’s Year 9 Design & Technology pupils were treated to an exciting glimpse behind the scenes of Hollywood and the world of film on Friday 27 June, thanks to a special visit from alumnus Nico Ferrari (Spurgeon's 2005).

Nico, whose impressive career includes designing and building custom vehicles for blockbuster hits like Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw, F9: The Fast Saga, The Batman, and the wildly imaginative Barbie, with Picture Vehicles Ltd, returned to Alleyn’s to lend his expertise during a DT workshop day. The pupils were hard at work crafting products for the Founders Day DT Enterprise Stall - and Nico’s visit turbocharged their creativity.

Taking time to visit each production team, Nico offered hands-on advice, shared insider tips, and gave them a dose of industry insight. He then delivered a high-energy presentation packed with stunning prototypes, scaled models, and short clips of films that showcased his team's creations in full cinematic action.

Nico’s journey through the film industry captivated the room, showing students just how far a passion for design and engineering can take you.

Thank you, Nico!
