Year 12 students Seb L and Kalen M share their reflections on the Economics trip:

On Thursday 12th March, 35 Economics students headed to London's Other Palace Theatre to watch a performance of “The Last Days of Liz Truss", a satirical one-woman show that gave significant insight inside No.10 during her final days. The play focused on the key stages of her rapid rise and subsequent downfall with an intimate set design that laid bare one of the most tumultuous economic periods in recent British history. The first half of the play centres around Truss’ early career in politics, involving a stint with the Lib-Dems, a position in the Treasury, and her eventual shift to the Conservative Party. The second half focuses on the shortest premiership in UK history, highlighting the rationale behind her expansive fiscal policy and attempts to build “Singapore on Thames”. The performance was both highly engaging and informative for all who attended.
