Language and Culture Fair 2024

Over one hundred bilingual pupils across Years 3-13 delighted us once again by hosting our third Language and Culture Fair in the Junior School’s Rose Hall.

This unique occasion promotes pupil collaboration as pupils plan and organise their displays, involving curious details and artefacts about their languages, and the countries and communities where they are spoken. It also a lovely chance to nurture existing friendships, as well as building new ones. The pupils were incredibly generous in sharing intricate traditional clothing, precious objects, games, and activities with the wider school community. It was wonderful to see children of different ages working together, and to hear so many lively conversations taking place through a wide range of cultural activities and in more than 20 different languages.

This established annual event has become a real celebration of diversity within our pupil body. The passion and pride these children feel for their heritage is quite profound, and it is a great privilege to have an opportunity to share and celebrate this with them here at school.
