This year’s Dance Show, Thrive, wrapped on Wednesday after three days of sold-out performances. The show intrigued and delighted audiences with dynamic performances and a diverse range of styles from pop and hip hop through to lyrical and contemporary. Featuring over 260 dancers from Years 7 to 13, making up 14 companies, and an amazing 600 costumes. With three nights of performances each with their own unique programme, it was a fantastic showcase of our dance programme and a tribute to the talent and dedication of all Alleyn's dancers.

Beyond the impressive numbers of this year’s production, the show featured seven GCSE and two EPQs (Extended Project Qualification) dance choreographies, with our EPQ performers gathering live feedback from the audience to enrich their projects. Each company has persevered with weekly rehearsals since September, with resilience and determination that has resulted in a beautiful expression of movement and emotion. The Alleyn’s Dance Show, under the directorship of Miss Demain, has grown from a 45-minute production on one night to three nights of three separate programmes filled with creative, daring, and engaging dance.

This year, the legacy of Alleyn's Dance is showing promise with some of our Year 13 dancers moving on to study dance at a higher level, including Asa, who has secured a place at Rombert Dance School.

As the curtains close on this spectacular event, congratulations to all our dancers for three nights of celebrating the artistry and diversity of dance and the vibrant talent within the Alleyn's community.
