Our All Stars choir had the privilege of participating in the latest Gabrieli Roar concert, led by the renowned Baroque ensemble, Gabrieli Consort.
The pupils joined a massed choir comprising students from multiple Southwark Schools Learning Partnership (SSLP) schools for an afternoon rehearsal at the magnificent St George's Cathedral, Southwark. Under the soaring ceilings of the cathedral, they learnt six folk songs and sea shanties which beautifully complemented a breathtaking performance of Purcell's beautiful opera, Dido and Aeneas.
It was a truly magical experience for our Year 7 cohort, who not only sang with passion and confidence but also developed invaluable ensemble and performance skills that will stay with them for years to come.
A huge congratulations to all the pupils involved - the energy, talent, and teamwork were outstanding!
