MFL Society Welcomes Ukrainian Guests for Inspiring Cultural Session

This week, the MFL Society was delighted to welcome our Ukrainian visitors, who generously prepared and delivered two vibrant presentations celebrating the rich culture and fascinating language of their homeland. Students learnt key facts about the country, exploring its striking natural landscapes, geographical landmarks, and much-loved traditional dishes – including the iconic borscht soup. They were also intrigued to discover that Ukraine is home to the world’s longest instrument, the trembita, and had the rare chance to hear this extraordinary alpine horn played live.

Pupils were introduced to the Ukrainian alphabet and enjoyed using it to write their names and simple greetings, bringing the language to life in a hands-on and memorable way. The session was engaging, informative, and delivered with confidence and warmth. We are deeply grateful to our visitors for sharing their knowledge, enthusiasm, and pride in their culture with us.
