On Wednesday evening, the awe-inspiring Southwark Cathedral provided a magnificent backdrop for an unforgettable musical celebration. Students, staff, visiting musicians, alumni, and members of the Community Choir came together to present a rich and varied programme spanning centuries of musical history, from the sacred works of Palestrina to the modern brilliance of Britten.
The evening culminated in a powerful and emotionally charged performance of Mozart’s Requiem, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended. Among the evening’s highlights were standout student solo performances by Gabriel W (cello), who performed Dvořák, and Tristan O (voice), who gave a moving rendition of Finzi - both earning well-deserved and rousing applause.
More than a concert, the event was a true celebration of the spirit of Alleyn’s: a showcase of collaboration, talent, and community. The music filled every corner of the Cathedral, and the sense of unity and shared purpose created memories that will live long in the minds of performers and audience members alike.
