On Thursday, the Junior School Hall was filled with colour and conversation as bilingual pupils from Reception to Year 13 hosted our fourth annual Language and Culture Fair.

This much-loved, pupil-led event celebrated the rich diversity of our school community. Students collaborated across year groups to create vibrant, engaging displays that showcased their languages and cultures, as well as the countries and communities in which they are spoken. Visitors explored fascinating facts, meaningful artefacts and interactive activities, with an impressive Chinese dragon costume proving a particular highlight.

It was inspiring to see pupils of all ages confidently sharing traditional dress, treasured objects and personal stories, while exchanging greetings in around 25 different languages. New friendships were formed, existing ones strengthened, and the hall full of energy and enthusiasm throughout lunchtime.

Although the weather outside was grey and wet, inside the atmosphere was warm and vibrant, a true reflection of our inclusive and connected community. For our Year 13 students, this marked a final opportunity to take part in an event they have supported throughout their time at school, while younger pupils are already looking ahead to future fairs.

The Language and Culture Fair remains a joyful and much-anticipated celebration of the rich cultural tapestry that defines our school.
