We are delighted to announce the appointment of Nicola Frost as our new Director of Partnerships.

Nicky began her career in education after many years working in Finance, broking Equity Derivatives. After qualifying in 2016 she spent the next 8 years working in the state-maintained sector. Nicky joined Alleyn’s in 2024 as a Teacher of Mathematics and Assistant Director of Partnerships, with a clear understanding about the importance of the work Alleyn’s students were already putting into helping the local community.

During her time here, she has made a significant impact in the classroom and beyond, building strong connections with colleagues, pupils, and external partners. She now takes on this new role to lead our partnerships strategy, ensuring it continues to thrive and make a real impact.

Nicola brings her sense of energy and adventure into all that she does at Alleyn’s. A keen horse rider, she is often out in Richmond Park and even spent a summer holiday trekking 180km across the Devetaki plateau in Bulgaria. She’s also a committed fundraiser, having taken on challenges such as a 26-mile walk in support of Alzheimer’s research. When she’s not in the saddle or on the move, Nicola enjoys skiing and caring for her two dogs — and once even found herself looking after the Science Department’s resident boa constrictor over the Christmas holidays!

Her ambitions for partnerships are to:
• Engage all staff and all pupils with our partnership programme.
• Increase the breadth and depth of local and global partnerships – working hard to build mutually beneficial relationships based on need.
• Support our communities through a rich partnership programme, aid social mobility and open access to our school.
• See our pupils become even more confident, lovers of learning, creative, kind and eager to contribute to broad society.

These ambitions will be achieved through the four elements of successful partnerships:

1. Good partnerships are symbiotic. The skills developed, the relationships formed and the experiences gained through interaction with partnerships in their varied forms are as enriching and horizon-expanding for our students and teachers as they are for our partners.

2. Partnerships are sustainable. With clear organisational and accountability structures in place, roles defined, expectations clear, and funding and marketing plans established.

3. Partnerships are specific and targeted. Each has clear objectives – whether to provide exposure to and aspirations for university, improve attainment in GCSE Languages, develop resilience, or open up new sporting opportunities – with defined outcomes for specific groups in mind.

4. Partnerships self-evaluate. We will be critical about whether they meet the three previous criteria, and how they measure up to the Alleyn’s core ROCCK values.

Reflecting on her appointment, Nicola said:

"True partnership empowers students to see learning as a shared journey—opening doors, nurturing confidence, and helping them discover their place in a wider world."

We are thrilled to welcome Nicola to this important role and look forward to the future of partnerships under her leadership.
