Since January, 47 Year 12 students at Alleyn’s have taken part in the LSE Generate Schools Programme, a dynamic initiative designed to cultivate entrepreneurial thinking and address real-world challenges. Impressively, all 47 students stayed the course through three intensive bootcamps held at LSE’s GenDen in Holborn, culminating in a high-energy Demo Day back at Alleyn’s.
From identifying urgent problems to developing MVPs, each session challenged students to refine their ideas and sharpen their pitches. Projects ranged from a vape-prevention app and a beauty platform celebrating cultural inclusivity, to urban redesigns tackling litter in London.
At the final showcase, students delivered five-minute pitches to a panel of judges, including alumnus Max Denis (Brading’s 2020), now at NatWest, and his entrepreneurial parents. Their feedback was unanimous: these young people are thoughtful, driven, and unafraid to take on big issues with clarity and purpose.
The Demo Day was more than a presentation; it was a celebration of ingenuity, social conscience, and collective ambition. The atmosphere was electric, and every voice mattered. Congratulations to all 47 participants, whose commitment, creativity, and courage made this programme a resounding success.
With sincere thanks to all supporting staff, Dr Durno, Mrs Maxwell, Mrs McKay, Mr Gebbia, Mr Gorgan, and Miss Goff, who believed in and brought this rich opportunity to life. We very much look forward to growing this special partnership next year.
